REPORTS TO: Creative Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Create print and digital marketing materials to support Dordt University's enrollment, fundraising, and brand awareness goals. Provide quick-turnaround items such as brochures and business cards as needed for academic departments and various Centers and their initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in design projects from concept to completion.
- Produce drafts, prototypes, and engaging design solutions.
- Listen to feedback to hone skills and improve design.
- Maintain and update content and graphics on Dordt's digital properties such as dordt.edu and cace.org
- Design print-ready promotional print materials for Dordt's programs and campaigns.
- Work with the Teaching for Transformation (TfT) team to create and update training materials and classroom resources.
- Create and update displays and signage for in-person events.
- Create promotional materials for schools, adhering to their brand standards when apropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
- Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

- Understanding of design theory and visual element such as layout and typography.
- Ability to apply design theory in a commercial context.
- Understanding of brand standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in art or graphic design.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Understanding of brand standards.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software, especially InDesign.
- Familiarity with html, CSS, and other web languages are a plus.
